Not Quite Grownup
Stories, Sanity, and Surviving Adulthood
With CAitlin Kindred
A podcast about adulthood, parenting, politics, and the things we do to get ourselves through the week.

You're trying to do everything "right"—the job, the parenting, the healthy choices—and it still doesn't feel like enough. You're tired, confused, and pretty sure everyone else has figured out something you missed.
Not Quite Grownup is for people tired of pretending they have it all together. It's for parents, burnout survivors, and anyone questioning the stories we've been told about what adulthood should look like.
About the Show
Each episode starts with a real story—sometimes mine, sometimes from listeners—and then dives into the bigger idea underneath it. I'm looking for the moment where something shifts, where we understand ourselves or the world a little differently.
Some episodes explore parenting when you're figuring it out in real time. Others tackle burnout, relationships, politics, or that specific exhaustion that comes from caring about everything. Because you can't separate the personal from the political when you're living both simultaneously.
This is a thinking-out-loud kind of show. I don't have all the answers, but I'm willing to sit with the messy questions. If you're tired of polished advice and want real conversation instead, this is where you belong.
Latest Episodes
These episodes capture what this show is about—the real stories, the bigger truths, and why adulthood is so much harder (and more interesting) than anyone told us it would be.
WHAT Listeners SAY
Listen if you want to hear laughter and personal stories interspersed with advice like the recent episode on date nights (beyond just significant other but also family and friends).

I enjoyed learning about NASA’s upcoming Artemis moon mission with lots of laughter and silliness. A little Greek mythology, Artemis is the sister of Apollo. I’m looking forward to moonequins on the moon, and a utopian future with women being equal partners in podcasting and space travel.

About Caitlin
I'm Caitlin, and I started this show because I was tired of the gap between the life I was "supposed" to be living and the actual messy, confusing, beautiful reality of it.
I spent years thinking I was broken because I couldn't "just relax" or "do it all." Turns out, the problem wasn't me—it was the impossible standards we're all trying to meet. Now I'm obsessed with understanding why we believe what we believe about adulthood, parenting, success, and what it actually takes to be okay.
I believe in the power of stories to help us make sense of our lives. I believe humor and honesty are survival tools. And I believe that if you're still figuring things out, you're doing it right.
